What do Ben & Jerry’s, Etsy, Seventh Generation, Dansko, and Pringle Creek Community all have in common? Â We are all B Corporations!
Pringle Creek Community is now a B Corporation, part of the global business community inspiring businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world but to also be the best FOR the world, a community that is working to use the power of commerce as a force for good vs just for profit.
A ‘B’ Corporation commits to earning financial returns as well as creating social and environmental value. There are currently over 1,500 Certified B Corporations from more than 130 industries and 42 countries with one unifying goal – to redefine success in business.  Pringle Creek is just one of 17 Certified B Corporations in the area of real estate and development in the world – and  the FIRST B Corp in Salem, Oregon!
B Corp is a sort of LEED certification for socially responsible businesses.  In order to become a B Corp, a company has to undergo a rigorous assessment process and periodic audits to document their performance on more than 170 specific measures on environmental stewardship, employee pay and benefits, and contributions to community well-being.  We’re proud to be involved with both of these third-party rating systems, LEED and B Corp.  These certifications underscore our commitment to all stakeholders – workers, suppliers, community, and the natural environment.  Our business model was founded upon the principles of sustainability.  Joining the B Corp family serves to bolster our commitment and challenge us to go even deeper and wider in that commitment to a triple-bottom line of people, planet, and profit.  We’ve been  walking the talk since the beginning – but now through joining the B Corp world, we are part of a larger network of similarly committed organizations and businesses working together to make a large, systemic change in how business works and who it works for.
This is great news for all of us!Φ
Pringle Creek Community is a neighborhood inspired by nature, community and innovation.Â
