LAWRENCE WITTNER – A new direction is needed to avert massive human suffering and death. In the immediate future, other wealthy nations could step up to fill the funding gap left by the Trump administration. Longer term, the United Nations and its agencies could be provided with an independent source of income, thereby ending their dependence on the whims of individual nations―especially those nations directed by people so fantastically wealthy that they lack any comprehension of hunger and its effects. Until remedial action is taken, however, world hunger and starvation will continue as a disgrace to humanity.

We have a moral obligation to save those we can, like Anne Frank (a teenager killed in genocide) reminds us: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

CORY MCMAHON & RICHARD CLARK – Genocide expert Daniel Goldhagen has shown that genocide — which includes deliberate famine and other silent killing campaigns — has occurred more than 70 times since 1900 with a death toll of at least 127 million, outnumbering the casualties of all of mankind’s 20th century wars. It is no wonder that Goldhagen calls genocide an “urgent first order global problem.â€
