Schrader Unveils Bipartisan Government Reform Package

By Kurt Schrader

As you may know, for the past year I have been working with an organization called No Labels to end the political gridlock in Congress and promote a new politics of problem solving. With their help, the help of a few like-minded Members of Congress and a band of dedicated citizens we founded the No Labels Problem Solvers Coalition—a group of now eighty Members of Congress of all political and ideological stripes committed to working with one another, finding common ground and solving our nation’s problems. No Labels and Congressional Problem Solvers are providing some of the only forums in Washington for Members on opposite sides of the aisle to sit down with one another and work through issues that ordinarily push us far apart.

You elected me to Congress to get work done, not complain and finger point. That’s why yesterday I led the bipartisan group of Problem Solvers in unveiling a comprehensive legislative package to make your government work more effectively. Regardless of if you believe in more or less government, we can all agree it needs to be much more efficient. The No Labels Make Government Work! package includes nine smart, sensible bills to consolidate duplicative programs, improve the budgeting process and and save taxpayers billions.

Please take a moment to learn more about the Make Government Work! package and ways you can help by clicking on the short video below* and visiting www.nolabels.org. I also hope that you will read my opinion piece running in the Salem Statesman Journal about the work No Labels Organization and Problem Solvers are trying to accomplish.

As always, I welcome and encourage any feedback you may have by sending me an email or interacting with me on Facebook and Twitter.
