Following Up on Minnesota FBI Raids

by Minneapolis Anti-War Committee

On September 24, the FBI raided the homes and offices of peace workers in Minneapolis, MN and elsewhere (see The PeaceWorker, Oct. 1 and Oct. 17). Here is the most recent news and action request from the Minneapolis Anti-War Committee, including an excellent resolution currently in the Minnesota Legislature. – Editor

Thanks for your calls to your members of the MN state legislature and to Sen. Klobuchar!

Here is a link to the resolutions introduced by State Representative Karen Clark and State Senator Linda Berglin. The Dear Colleague letter that was signed by 62 legislators has almost identical wording.

If you haven’t called her office yet, please do!  We want her to take a stand with the anti-war movement against the FBI’s attacks on free speech.

We will organize a similar action for Sen. Franken’s office so please stay tuned.

Got the Halloween Spirit!  Hang up a Stop the Witch Hunt Poster on your door for the trick or treaters!  http://antiwarcommittee.org/?q=node/560

We need to keep organizing but our computers and database are being held by the FBI!  Help us re-establish our database! Go go http://www.antiwarcommittee.org/?q=node/552 and help us recreate our database of supporters.  We need you!

There are two new resources that you can use to build support for the anti-war & international solidarity activists who are under attack.

One is a “12 ways you can help” flyer, which lists…12 ways you can help!  It’s available at
http://groups.google.com/group/stopfbi-mn/web/20101012-howyoucanhelp.pdf

The other is a postcard with the 3 demands on it that can be mailed to President Obama & Attorney General Holder.  They are 4 on a page, double sided, so you’d have to print them out double sided (on cardstock paper) then cut them in 4 to make 4 postcards per page (not as complicated as it sounds!).  That’s available here: http://groups.google.com/group/stopfbi-mn/web/3demands-postcard.pdf.

Or you can find both of these materials as well as the other flyers that we already have at this link: http://groups.google.com/group/stopfbi-mn/files. More materials will be coming soon from the outreach committee.  Φ
